Juice Beauty Green Apple Peel for Sensitive Skin

I have oily skin and after my visit to the dermatologist he suggested that I get a clarifying toner. I did purchase a toner and facial wash but that is for a later post. What I also purchased considering my oily skin and huge pores is the Juice Beauty Green Apple Peel for sensitive skin.

I got this little jar at Beauty Bar and boy did it cost me a pretty penny! This cost me over Ph2k. However I did research extensively on this product before purchasing it. I found out that Juice Beauty uses only organic ingredients and they promote a healthy, natural lifestyle. They also claimed that most cosmetic products use a lot of synthetic and questionable ingredients that could not only affect our skin but our body as well.

"Juice Beauty has a 100% Certified Organic Juice Base:

Most beauty products that use “organic” in their marketing use only a few organic ingredients in a water base, making the total organic content dilute and often less than 5%. Instead of the typical water base that cannot be certified “organic or pesticide free,” Juice Beauty puts over 100 USDA certified organic powerful ingredients into a 100% certified organic juice base (made from over 30 different juices) thus bringing the total organic content up to 98% in every product.

Clinically validated age-defying results: Juice Beauty uses powerful ingredients such as alpha lipoic acid, coenzyme Q10, DMAE, peptides, fat soluble Vitamin C and essential fatty acids for optimum results

proven by clinical studies that have shown an 85% reduction in free radical skin cell damage (which means less wrinkles and sun spots!).

Commitment to Healthy Ingredients:

The Juice Beauty team continually searches the West Coast for the purest, most effective organic ingredients, including organic juices, aloe vera, honey, botanicals, plant oils, and raw cane sugar from farms that specialize in sustainable and organic farming.

These amazing formulations are made without parabens, petroleum, propylene or butylene glycol, sodium lauryl sulfates, pesticides, phthalates, artificial dyes or synthetic fragrances." - taken from web site

Opening the jar, the product did not look very appetizing. I applied some to my face and it smelled like apple puree. Come to think of it, it resembled some of the apple based baby food I feed my baby.

I carefully applied some to my entire face. I've heard that many people experienced some warming of their face or redness. I experienced the same but only minimally. I waited 10 minutes before rinsing the peel off of my face and experienced soft smooth skin. It was absolutely thrilling to feel your face so smooth. There was minimal redness so I strongly suggest that you apply the peel only at night and wear a sunblock the next day. This is recommended for use once a week only. However, I've been using this twice a week and I feel like my skin is really improving.

This is quite expensive for an exfoliator but take note that it uses only organic ingredients. However we do have our own home-grown organic lines like Leyende and Human Nature but I'm not aware if they have an organic scrub/exfoliator. This jar is probably going to last me for many months and I'll update this post after a month or so on how my skin is improving using this peel.

  1. I want to try this as well but you're right, it's too expensive, Beauty Bar jacks up the prize beautifully.

Thank goodness for balikbayan relatives huh? ;)
