Dinner at Peking Garden Trinoma

Image
I am not sure if I've eaten at Peking Garden before for a family occasion because I honestly don't remember. I did contemplate celebrating my birthday at Peking Garden Greenbelt but one glance at their menu and the prices of the dishes had me rethinking my options. It's a good thing then that last Sunday my own mother suggested we eat at Peking Garden Trinoma.

Entrance to Peking Garden Trinoma

Peking Garden Trinoma is located at the upper open level. There are many restaurants here like Abe and Kimpura while a Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf is right next door.We would park on the same level as the Bench Fix Salon then take the escalator up and exit near the Power books. You'll see the Peking Garden sign straight ahead.

While waiting for our orders to arrive they gave us a two mini-plates of kropek. Of course my family asked for another mini-plate once we ate what was on the two plates. I also ordered a soup and pork dumpling dish since they didn'…

The Face Shop Sake body scrub

Image
I actually already had a body scrub but even in our small condo I just couldn't find it. It must have gotten stashed somewhere when we moved in. I also haven't been able to buy a new loofah and refuse to use one that is ragged already. I was already feeling a bit uncomfortable not being able to exfoliate dead skin cells and was desperate for a body scrub. Thus while walking down Bonifacio High Street I entered the Face Shop store like I always did but this time I had my eye out for a body scrub.   They actually had two body scrubs, one was an avocado based scrub I think and the other was the Sake body scrub. The Sake body scrub interested me more because it is supposed to be gel based. How interesting is that? Most body scrubs are usually just suspended micro-beads or crushed seeds. Sure enough my curiosity got the best of me and I purchased the Sake Clarifying Gel Body Scrub.

Kiehl's lip gloss in Pink Rider

Image
I love lip gloss. Sometimes lipsticks aren't moisturizing enough and you have to prep your lips with some lip balm first before applying. If I use lip gloss I usually can skip the lip balm step. Some lip glosses however are really sticky and just pure shine without a lot of color. Luckily while walking around the mall one day I managed to try the Kiehl's lip gloss in Pink Rider (on my hand). I knew the Kiehl's had a highly touted lip balm and it seems that the same ingredients were used for the lip gloss. Putting a great lip balm and some color together in one product is something many brands try to do and I'm glad to say that Kiehl's succeeded.

Kiehl's lip gloss in Pink Rider

The ingredients list sounds fairly yummy with Mango Butter and Grape seed extracts being the first acknowledged. On the lip gloss itself you can read "This non-sticky gloss hydrates lips and restores their suppleness as antioxidants help preserve a healthy appearance." It'…

Pepper Lunch, Rockwell

Image
Confession: I always want to eat at Pepper Lunch but the long line usually turns me and hubby off from doing so. Thus when we saw that there wasn't a line last Saturday we took the opportunity to head straight for the counter and choose a dish to sizzle our way.   I opted for the Hitokuchi cut steak. I remember ordering this before where I was presented with thin strips but now they were chunky strips.

Seaweed Shake Salad P99

Hubby got the Beef Pepper Rice and the Seaweed Shake salad. Good for him that he had something to eat while I waited for like 20 minutes for my order to arrive. I don't remember it taking that long to get your order especially since the cooking is done on your dish's special hot plate. Unfortunately I was eating when hubby's dish arrived and so I did not take a picture of it.   Once my order did I arrive I promptly made sure to flip the meat over to the uncooked side and swirled the two sauces all over it. I think…

Cuillere, Serendra

Image
Yesterday was Father's day and we met up with hubby's family to celebrate it. Serendra and the Bonifacio Highstreet area is the most convenient place to meet them so we walked a bit in that area trying to find a restaurant that wasn't filled to the brim. It was quite crowded in Serendra and I attribute this mostly to it being Father's day.   It was a good thing then that while walking we passed by a seemingly empty Cuillere. We were lucky enough to get a table as walk-ins even though the rest of the tables already were reserved.

The place is done in a style that should be reminiscent of a French bistro. Cute chandeliers hanging from the wall. Some old world red and pale gold color palette and touches of wood. The ambiance exudes classic French chic.

Sorry about the flash but the place is done in dim lighting during the evening. Notice the red  leather upholstered chairs. Still continuing with the French cafe ambiance.

Cuillere, from what I've read, is the restaur…

Human Nature Tomato and Lemongrass Facial Wash and Toner

Image
I love Human Nature. They're cheap, organic and the products work. As soon as my shampoo and conditioner were half empty I decided to order for more. However I decided to add the Tomato and Lemongrass facial wash and toner to my order. I've heard raves about these products but I've also heard that the scent is not too nice.

Human Nature Tomato and Lemongrass facial wash

I don't know about you but I usually hold my breath when I wash my face. Thus, I usually don't smell the scent of my facial wash until after I've rinsed it off. In this case, I did take a closer look at the fluid in my hand and it did have a rather strange scent. It was a very herbal kind of scent and was mostly not pleasant. However the scent does not linger and you won't smell it on your face after rinsing. The lather this facial wash produces is also minimal. It gives you the idea that yes it is there on your face rinsing the dirt and grime away but not overly bubbly.

Lunch at Lu, Rockwell

Image
It was my darling sister's birthday last Sunday and we celebrated by her treating us out to lunch at Lu. Lu is a restaurant located in the Joya Building in Rockwell. I've never been to this place before. I think I may have read a blog post or two about it but had never been inclined to go look for it. It was a good thing then that sister wanted to eat here because the food is seriously good!

The restaurant itself is very interestingly decorated. I love the ambiance.

I love the lights they had hanging from the ceiling. Super cool! I couldn't really tell what kind of place it was supposed to be however. I think people refer to it as Mediterranean but I think there's some fusion thrown in there.

M ordered some appetizers which was the dip platter and the spring roll.

Anthology Shoes: Pick a Neon contest

Image
I'm a sucker for comfy and stylish shoes. I used to go to a million shops just to find ballet flats that were easy on my feet but still cute. However some of these shoes just wear away in time. I really wanted some ballet flats that were very fashionable and sturdy, made of good materials. I found my match in the Anthology Capri banana ballet flats. I absolutely love them to death. If I could wear them every day I would.

Turns out that Anthology has a website where you can order your favorite Anthology shoes online. Even better is that they have a promo going on right now where they are showing off their latest neon colored flats and you can get a chance to win a pair for yourself.

So go visit the Anthology website right now, pick a color of neon flats and tell them why you deserve it.

Juice Beauty Green Apple Peel for Sensitive Skin

Image
I have oily skin and after my visit to the dermatologist he suggested that I get a clarifying toner. I did purchase a toner and facial wash but that is for a later post. What I also purchased considering my oily skin and huge pores is the Juice Beauty Green Apple Peel for sensitive skin.

I got this little jar at Beauty Bar and boy did it cost me a pretty penny! This cost me over Ph2k. However I did research extensively on this product before purchasing it. I found out that Juice Beauty uses only organic ingredients and they promote a healthy, natural lifestyle. They also claimed that most cosmetic products use a lot of synthetic and questionable ingredients that could not only affect our skin but our body as well.

"Juice Beauty has a 100% Certified Organic Juice Base:

Most beauty products that use “organic” in their marketing use only a few organic ingredients in a water base, making the total organic content dilute and often less than 5%. Instead of the typical water base that…

Revlon Colorstay Liquid Foundation

Image
I haven't used liquid foundation for the longest time. I remember smearing it on back in High School for school dances or in college if I had to attend a major family event. It didn't really leave me with a good impression because I always felt they were thick and gunky. So for the past few years I've been using pressed powders and most recently mineral make-up. However, I'm not so happy with how long mineral make-up lasts on me in this horrible heat. I can't touch up all the time so I was looking for a good long lasting alternative. According to many sites that I've visited online, the Revlon Colorstay liquid foundation is a very good budget make-up to try.

So during my retail therapy last weekend I grabbed a bottle of Revlon ColorStay Makeup with SoftFlex in Nude for Combination/Oily skin.

One thing I noticed instantly when I was going to apply some make-up is that it is very difficult to get the liquid foundation out of the bottle. I didn't want to spill…
